Fenin of the Wingless by Mizuenzeru Fenin of the Wingless by Mizuenzeru
My foam project for 3D class. I made an outfit to go with it as well. Ended up walking around scaring people at the dorms, then my teacher himself, haha. Plus there's this long story I made up to go with it. I'll put part of it in here because it's rather in depth, just ask me if you want to hear the rest.
"This is a depiction of a Fenin or Phenaen spirit. This happens to be its most elementary phase, the wingless. These "spirits" travel from the upper dimensions into this earthly reality. Nothing is perfect, not even angels, as Lucifer demonstrated for us (i'm not exactly Christian or anything so this lacks strong religous influence). This spirit jorneys through the void between realms, which just happens to be that space inside our dreams. The dreamscapes are an endless space filled with pathways, or highways. Everything is in the form of materialized or raw energy. Information is trapped within it and is easily imprinted onto the souls (which are energy as well) who use the paths to get from dimension to dimension. Er.. i could go on about that but I won't for now. These spirits enter our reality when one is asleep. Essentially the dreamer serves as a gate and the Fenin spirit is then bound to the human until they fullfill their service/mission. Upon entrance the Fenin is the most tangible. As they learn and progress they lose their physicality, eventually disappearing. Disappearing isn't the best word for it, let's just say it becomes harder to pass through the gates (which are only open as long as the host is asleep, Fenin are trapped wherever they are, be it human reality or the inner dimensions, once the host awakes). Even though they are spirits, they can interact with humans. oh wow... i think i wrote too much. err. contact me for the rest. which there is much of.
cheers!

thanks, i'm surprised that you were like the only person who did the trophy thing, especially since half the people who did the masks made ones that didn't work. Kinda went against the whole 'mask' idea, haha. only 4 weeks to go! .... yay wood shop

i'll be pretty busy for the next month, so i'm not sure when i'll find a second for visitations, for now i'll see you in the dreamscapes /^:)^\ the insulation foam is covered over by a whole bunch of other stuff, so it's safe now, no worries charlie-chan

This is awesome. I'd be scared too. You did a great job with the painting - very effective. Your outfit is amazing too! What material is that?

The mask itself is made out of insulation foam, you know that itchy pink stuff? Then it was layered with water puddy and house paint, haha it smelled so bad when i first wore it. The cloak is fashioned from weird red quateroi (sp?) , some orange jean material, and i was told the brown stuff is tweed, which happens to be excpetionally soft! Hope that helped ^_^

do you mean corduroy? Teehee, quart-er-oi.

No words can really describe this project....it's gorgeous but so freakin' creepy!! X-P
It definitely did look unreal at first glance, though. How long did you have to complete it? Did other people do masks too? No matter what anyone says I'm still scared about Tyler. I can't not be worried about being overwhelmed and getting no sleep and feeling like I have no talent whatsoever in comparison to people like you. I just hope I can pull through and not burn out. I have to work hardcore this summer to develop as much as possible. My portfolio was only accepted on the grounds that it had 'variety' and I have 'passion' which is scary. Not to mention a group of Art II's are currently showing up all us Art IV's at SF...

oh no the ArtIIs?! Burn them ALL!!!!!!! And by the way, you are soooo talented don't even give me the 'oh i'm not that great in comparison" thing. cause frankly, it's not true!
As for this project, i was given 4 weeks, i used 3, and it was 'make a mask or trophy' as the guidelines. DON"T BE WORRIED, you are more than capable! <3

okay....if you say so...by the way, you are pretty much my sensai whether you like it or not. Laur too. :worship: :P

I need to learn to have confidence in myself or get other people to see what I see as truth or just shut up about the whole thing. I hate that it looks like I'm constantly fishing for compliments or something....especially when I know there will be competition at Tyler. Whether its intentional or not, everyone is going to compare themselves to everyone else and I'm going to make no friends if I constantly complain that I suck.

yeah i found out the hard way, that the more you complain the less friends you have
after a while you'll realize that no one cares if you're amazing or really crappy, they look for social and optimistic people.
i guess it easy to assume that I don't have many friends here haha
